SNAIL SHELL
SYNOPSIS
Every shell we build can both protect and imprison us. This short film follows the journey of a character in search of himself. Inspired by the work of the visual artist and filmmaker, whose poetics explore nature as well as individual and collective identities, the film moves fluidly between introspection and the rediscovery of human beauty, while evoking themes of queer belonging and homoerotic desire.
Shot in a single take on Super 8, the film was created within the experimental cinema workshop organized by the Inflámavel Festival (Florianópolis, Brazil). It received the Popular Jury Award for Best Film as well as an Honorable Mention in the 2025 edition.
